Nrg File Extension
|
An NRG file extension is a type of digital backup for DVDs and CDs created by the Nero software company. Although NRG is exclusive to Nero, there are ways on how to open NRG files on other platforms.
The truth is, NRG files are widely utilized by other programs such as Daemon tools. You only need the right reader to be able to view its contents. You can even transform it into an ISO file and save it on a CD. You don't need to have advanced knowledge about NRG. Any regular computer user can open NRG files in just a matter of minutes.
To open this type of file, download the Daemon Tools. You can locate its official website by simply entering the same keyword in Google. After installing, you will notice its icon in the taskbar. Right click this icon, go to Virtual CD/DVD ROM, and click Mount Image. Remember the drive specified on the Device:0 field. Look for the specific NRG file that you want opened in the pop up box provided.
Double click the file. Go to Start and click My Computer. This opens the Windows Explorer browser. From that window, look for the added drive that was developed by Daemon Tools as specified earlier by the Device:0 field. You are now ready to open the NRG file. Simply double click it and you will see it opened in the same platform you have created. Save it on a CD so you can open the same files later without installing Daemon Tools. Daemon Tools is a free service that you can use anytime. This allows you to not only reveal NRG contents but to also burn the image file on your preferred medium. There are also programs that do the same functions such as the MagicISO, although it's only free for the first few days. Before converting an NRG extension, it would be wise to create a backup in case it gets damaged during the process. Although this does not happen a lot, it is still better to have a backup because your registry can get in the way of opening the files . |
